25 years in rope and rigging experience in industrial applications, especially involving human beings. Starting on the White River at the base of Mt. Rainier in Washington State, when I built Mud Mountain Dam with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. That was some seriously swift white water, carving its way down 14,411 ft (4392 meters), from the snowcap peak of the old volcano to the base. We don’t fall from heights in water sports, but the water we paddle in does. And we experience the anti-gravitational effects of buoyancy, which is why it is very important we use gear made for water, saltwater and intense UV exposure.
