MetaLeash HOOK Cuff and Leash
MetaLeash HOOK Cuff and Leash
This is a hook and loop fastening cuff, using a traditional fastening system but with industrial strength hook and low profile loop. The colored strap is the same seatbelt material used in all of the other cuffs and belts. The width is 1.5” and the overall weight is 1.5 ounce. The inside lining is neoprene with silicone dots, to prevent slippage. We recommend this for those of you who still want the press and peel option for putting it on and taking it off. When putting it on, ensure that you press the hook and loop together smoothly and firmly. For quick removal just grab the orange quick pull .
Some people really love a hook and loop fastener. We studied every kind available and finally found that injection-molded hook paired with low-profile loop makes for a fairly sand-free and abrasion-free cuff. Most importantly, the compact cuff is intuitively easy to fasten. Just wrap it above your calf and press firmly.* Unlike the clothing grade hook and loop in mass produced cuffs sewn onto puffy lares of mystery materials, every later of the MetaLeash HOOK cuff was chosen for its durability, strength, comfort and weight in water sports. the HOOK is so light and comfortable, you don’t know it’s there. Absent is the prong sticking out of traditional cuffs, which are used simply to connect the leash part. You can fasten your leash to a D ring or forego it and just use the virtually weightless Dyneema loop. If you are in flat to light conditions, the HOOK is ideal for you and comes with our standard one year warranty for repair or replace. If you are out surfing in conditions where you expect a lot of pull from a board, we still recommend you use a belt. (*You are not fastening a pair of shoes that will stay on even if the hook and loop fails, so take your time lining up the 1.5” material and press firmly. Then press again. Why? You want maximum interlocking between the hook and the loop. If the cuff is hard to peel open by the corner of the material, you are on the right track. It should be very hard. But it is very easy to pull the orange safety loop and remove the leash in a jiffy.)
